Coach's Licensing Rules  (Fall 2010)

(Click here to apply for a 3 year all teams coach pass. )

(Click here for info on single team coaches pass)

Fall 2010 Notes:

A. With the conversion to online processing of the 3 year all teams pass, some 3 year passes issued 1 to 2 years ago are not updated in current online coach files.  If your file is not updated to indicate you hold a 3 year pass send an email to office@iwsl.com with your name and pass number so we may update your online file from our old system.

B. To submit a coach for team/roster registration who will be attending an IYSA coach class in the near future, in their coach file online enter "PEND" for License, 00-0000 for license number, and 07/01/10 for license date.  We will issue and hold the pass pending a copy of the coach license when received.  The copy should be mailed to IWSL, PO Box 68849, Schaumburg 60168 along with a self addressed return envelope.  Do not fax copies to us.

1. All coaches and assistant coaches must have a license/certificate for U8 thru U19 at the time you register the team for the Fall of 2010 and apply for your coach’s pass. If you don’t have a license you cannot be listed as the coach on the roster form and cannot be issued a coach’s pass.

2. For U8 thru U12 the minimum requirement is a Youth Module for the specific age group, or an E license.  Youth Modules are limited in their application and a copy must be submitted each year for verification prior to a coaches pass being issued. For U13 thru U19 a minimum of an E license is needed and once submitted it is permanently entered in our database and does not have to be resubmitted each year.  We will accept NSCAA and AYSO license as equivalents up to U12, however online certificates/classes are not acceptable.

3. Refer to the Illinois Youth Soccer Association’s (IYSA) web page at www.iysa.org for courses that are already scheduled.

4. If there are no courses scheduled for your age group, you can call Ian Mulliner at the IYSA (847-290-1577) to find out how to get a clinic scheduled. It is suggested that your club sponsor one in conjunction with other clubs in your area. There has to be a minimum of 15 persons in class and evening classes can be scheduled.

5. Every coach, assistant coach and trainer on the sideline must have a license/certificate and a coach’s pass.

The coach’s licensing/certification as explained above is non-negotiable.
